I am writing a book. Like a lot of other suckers.
I would call it a category, or genre work. It belongs to speculative fiction: sci-fi without too much future involved (in the first book, at least). The title of this blog, Ensporation, refers to my working title for the book: Enspore. One of the things I really like about the title is that it feels both descriptive and poetic. Poetic in the auditory sense: say the word. What associations are made? Ensnare? Inspire? Endospore (for the biologically-minded)?
That’s what I want.
The plot is not entirely original, but key parts of it are. Inspirational sources include — but are not limited to — Heinlein’s Methuselah’s Children, Koontz’s Beastchild, King’s The Stand, Dantz’s Nine Levels Down, and many more sci-fi books.
